The new Antares 9 outboard will be the flagship of the Antares outboard fleet. There are some huge improvements over the outgoing Antares 8.80 which has proved to be very popular.
Firstly, the new 9 has a sliding transom seat, so even if you have the engines raised in the marina, you can still use the cockpit aft bench seat. Which was not possible in the old model.
The saloon is vastly different, including a larger galley with more storage, a side sliding door to the starboard side deck, larger panoramic glass all the way around the cabin. Plus the biggest benefit is a forward facing co-pilot seat for 2 people. The saloon seats the same amount as the previous model, but this time it is a face to face set up with two bench seats facing one and other, with the added benefit of it converting to a bed. Giving sleeping for 6 onboard.
Going forward and below decks is where the largest change has appeared. The open plan space has been cleverly replaced with 2 separate cabins with doors. The forward cabin has a double berth that can scissor out to become two singles. The amidships cabin is still a full double, but with the added benefit of its own hull port light. In the heads section, the amount of space has increased a lot.
Powered by a pair of 200hp engines. She will creep up to 35 knots.
